According to a press release by the EU Delegation to China, top ICT innovative companies from both China and Europe will gather in Beijing to join ChinICT 2007 on May 24 and 25. And best innovators will be awarded. Which ICT company will be the next big players this year like Sina.com, Huawei, Microsoft or SAP? We will wait to see.
ChinICT 2007 is the first event of its kind in China focusing on ICT top innovative companies not only from China but also from Europe. Through a very selective process which has been going on for months, almost 30 ICT top innovative companies and the most promising ICT SMEs have been selected and to be presented by formal presentations and exhibitions at the meeting.
This concept of ChinICT comes directly from Silicon Valley where, Mr. Franck Nazikian, the organizer of the event, has been a seasoned entrepreneur and investor for the past 10 years. 'We are proud of the companies we are exhibiting at ChinICT this year. In our opinion, they all have the potential to become strong leaders on their market and, for some of them, this potential has already started to get revealed', said Mr. Nazikian.
When asked about the ICT entrepreneurship potential of China, Franck just quoted John Chambers, the CEO of Cisco Systems during one of his last press conferences in Beijing, 'We can have a healthy discussion about whether that's in 2010 or 2020, but China will become the world's largest economy and the IT center of the world. Therefore, what we're trying to do is outline an entire strategy of becoming a Chinese company'.
ChinICT 2007 is taking place during the 10th edition of the week of high tech - Chitec - which is also one of the key partners of the operation, alongside with Zhongguancun Science Park and Torch.
