- Li Ning plans 30% store expansion

LI NING, a sportswear retailer said to be modeled on Nike Inc., plans to ramp up its store network in China by 32 percent over three years, starting with 467 new outlets in 2007.
The company, founded by Li Ning, an Olympic Games gymnastics gold medalist, wants to run 5,700 stores by the end of 2009, versus 4,333 at the end of last year, it said yesterday.
