- Southern Air to buy assets from parent

CHINA Southern Airlines Co. said it has agreed to buy from its parent, State-owned China Southern Air Holding Co., aviation-related assets for 269.5 million yuan (US$35.6 million).
The carrier said it is buying stakes in the parent's catering company, a training center and a travel agency. The airline said it is buying the assets to enhance its own operations.
