AIR China will buy 23 Airbus A320 jets, with a list price of US$1.4 billion, the airline said in a statement released to the Shanghai Stock Exchange yesterday.
The aircraft will come as a result of a deal for 150 of the planes announced last October by Airbus and China Aviation Supplies Import and Export Group Corporation (CASGC), an Airbus spokesman said. Air China said the planes would have delivery dates between January 2009 and December 2012. The airline will pay cash from its own reserves and from commercial bank loans, the statement said. It said the actual price was lower than the list price, but gave no details.
