PASSENGER traffic on domestic airlines is forecast to rise 16 percent to 185 million in 2007, helped by a boom in tourism, the Shanghai Securities News said Thursday, citing the civil aviation authority.
The rise is to be driven by steady growth in domestic tourists, seen to expand 8 percent year on year, the newspaper said, citing the General Administration of Civil Aviation. Cargo traffic was expected to reach 3.9 million tons, up 12 percent year on year, as exports and imports were seen expanding to US$2 trillion. In addition, the administration said it would revise current plans for price reforms and launch new rules of charging at local airports this year.
