- Modelo picks Anheuser as China importer

MEXICAN brewer Modelo, maker of the popular Corona beer, on Monday named its U.S. partner Anheuser-Busch Cos. Inc. as its brand importer in China.
Modelo, which already imports beer into China, is half-owned by Anheuser-Busch, the world's biggest brewer and maker of Budweiser. The new accord will start in January 2007. In August, Modelo said it would start to distribute the Chinese beer Tsingtao in Mexico from the end of 2006. Anheuser-Busch is also an investor in Tsingtao, China's largest brewer.
