- Wahaha says no decision on suit

CHINESE drinks company Wahaha Group said yesterday it has not decided whether to take its joint venture partner Danone to court over a high-profile dispute, although it is reviewing that option.
Earlier this year, Danone filed a lawsuit in California accusing Wahaha of breach of contract by using the Wahaha brand on products sold outside their joint ventures. The Xinhua news agency said Tuesday that Wahaha would countersue the French food company and seek compensation of up to 5 billion euros (US$6.72 billion), citing a company statement. Wahaha spokesman Shan Qining said yesterday, however, that no decision had been made so far on a counter lawsuit.
