- Ministry changes bond auction schedule

THE Ministry of Finance on Friday changed the schedule for its government bond auctions in December, cancelling one auction and postponing the other.
A one-year bond auction scheduled for Dec. 13 was cancelled and an auction of three-month bills was moved from today to Dec. 13, the ministry said, without elaborating.
Analysts said they believed the change of schedule was to facilitate the ministry's plan, announced earlier in the day, to auction a three-month deposit of 20 billion yuan (US$2.55 billion) in cash to commercial banks this Wednesday.
