- Nissan, Dongfeng to set up auto finance firm

NISSAN Motor Co. said Tuesday it had received official approval to set up an auto finance company in China as part of its joint venture with local automaker Dongfeng Motor Group Co.
The new company, Dongfeng Nissan Auto Finance Co., will be based in Shanghai and begin operating after July. Nissan said that the company will also roll out its financing services into other major cities, such as Beijing, Guangzhou and Wuhan, by 2010. Nissan is hoping that demand for auto financing in China will grow in coming years and is looking to introduce more of its products to the market to capitalize on this.
