- Morgan Stanley hires new China economist
Date: 9-May-2007 Sources: (Shenzhen Daily)
MORGAN Stanley yesterday named Qing Wang as its new chief economist for Greater China.
Wang, who will be based in Hong Kong, joins the investment bank from Bank of America, where he held a similar position. He had previously worked for six years with the International Monetary Fund in Washington. Morgan Stanley has been without a chief China economist since Andy Xie resigned from the U.S. investment bank in September after an email with disparaging comments about Singapore's economic policy was leaked to the public.
