  • Expo park to be open free to public
    Date: 22-Oct-2007 Sources: (Shenzhen Daily)

FROM Nov. 1, the Shenzhen International Garden and Flower Expo Park in Futian District will be open free to the public, yesterday's Daily Sunshine reported.

The number of visitors is expected to reach 25,000 when the park stops charging an admission fee, officials with the municipal urban administration bureau were quoted as saying.

The park will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Visitors won't be allowed to enter after 9 p.m. Security guards will still be on duty 24 hours a day.

Buildings inside the park will close at 6 p.m.

A total of 37 more surveillance cameras will be placed at various locations in the park, and these will be connected to the electronic surveillance system of the Futian District Public Security Subbureau.

To attract more visitors to the park, the park management plans to build at least 10 more gardens, each dedicated to a single flower like crape myrtle, azalea or tea plant.

The park authority has stopped issuing annual cards. Card holders can get refunds until Jan. 31 next year.
