- DPRK marks anniversary of Chinese People's Volunteers' entry into Korean War front

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Thursday commemorated with solemn ceremonies the 57th anniversary of the entry of the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) into the Korean War front.
Choi Yong-rim, secretary general of the Presidium of the DPRK's Supreme People's Assembly (SPA), was among senior officials and representatives from various social circles who attended a wreath-laying ceremony at the Friendship Tower.
After a wreath, in the joint name of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the Presidium of the SPA and the DPRK Cabinet, was laid in front of the tower, participants observed a moment's silence in memory of CPV martyrs.
People from various walks of life in Pyongyang placed bouquets of flowers before the tower.
Diplomats of the Chinese Embassy here also laid wreaths at the Friendship Tower and the cemetery of the CPV martyrs in the Hyongjesan District of Pyongyang.
Rodong Sinmun, the DPRK's leading official newspaper, issued an editorial on Thursday, praising highly the great achievements of the CPV and the growing DPRK-China friendship.
