GOME Electrical Appliances Holding Ltd., China's top electronics retailer, posted a 14.6 percent rise in first-half profit, helped by recent mergers and strong sales in China's booming retail sector.
The Beijing-based firm - which merged with rival Paradise Electronics in a US$680 million deal last year - said Thursday it earned 395 million yuan (US$52 million) for the six months to end-June, versus a previous 344.53 million yuan.
