Shenzhen Science and Technology Association has distributed nearly 200,000 free admission tickets for the first China (Shenzhen) International Scientific Life Exhibition, which will be held from Thursday to Sunday.
Visitors can also get tickets on the opening day Thursday at the entrances to Hall 1 and 6 of the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center.
The exhibition, the city's third State-level international fair after the eight-year-old China Hi-Tech Fair and two-year-old China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industry Fair (ICIF), will showcase scientific inventions and products closely related to everyday life.
According to the organizers, the exhibition, which aims to promote a healthy, energy-saving and environmentally-friendly way of life, will enable visitors to race with virtual world champions, sample the latest electronic and digital products and learn more about environmentally friendly materials through interactive games.
'In Hall 1, we have eight 'theme' rooms focusing on energy-saving, water-saving and environmental protection where visitors can learn how to save resources,' said Lu Jiefei, department chief of the association on Monday.
In a so-called 'intelligent room,' most household appliances are all connected via the Internet, and all you need to do is to use a TV remote control or mobile phone to control the household appliances, lighting and monitoring system in separate rooms.
To popularize science among students, the exhibition will showcase inventions by Shenzhen students and invite visitors to participate in interactive games such as programming robots.
More than 1,000 companies, including Elextrolux China, Siemens, Haier and Hisense, have booked booths at the exhibition.
