- Electronics show attracts overseas exhibitors

MORE than 230 firms from nine countries will attend ELEXCON 2007, the second-largest professional exhibition at the China Hi-Tech Fair next month.
The exhibition will be held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center between Oct.12 and 17.
More than 60 percent of the exhibitors who will attend ELEXCON are leading manufacturers from the United States, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France and Singapore, the China Hi-Tech Fair Organizing Committee said at a press conference Wednesday.
Japanese manufacturers are expected to be comprise the largest overseas group this year.
According to the organizers, the ELEXCON show will cover an area of 15,000 square meters and be divided into the following areas: semiconductors, IC design, lead-free equipment, electronics materials, testing and measurements.
Most of the leading passive components manufacturers such as Murata, TDK, EPCOS, KEMET, TOKO, Taiyo Yuden, OMRON and DOVER will attend the fair this year.
NEC, one of the world's most important semiconductor manufacturers, will attend the fair for the third time to display its latest semiconductor technology.
The organizers, in cooperation with Communication Equipment Manufacturing Society, China Institute of Communications, IPC, Guangdong Semiconductor Industry Association will hold seminars and forums on the semiconductor market, the passive components market, mobile phone technology and portable products design.
