Southwest China's Yunnan Province exported 10.45 million U.S. dollars worth of fresh cut flowers in the first 11 months of last year, up 85.9 percent from the same period in 2005, according to Customs figures.
The province exported 4,362 tons of cut flowers in the January-November period, indicating a yearly growth of 8.6 percent.
Analysts attributed the drastic increase in revenues chiefly to growing demand and rising prices of cut flowers last year.
Roses, carnations and lilies remained the major varieties for export.
Japan remained the largest importer of Yunnan's exports, with the value rising 18 percent year-on-year to reach 2.75 million dollars.
Hong Kong bought 2.71 million dollars worth of fresh cut flowers from Yunnan, second only to Japan, 3.5-times that of the same period of previous year.
The 10 members of ASEAN imported 3.62 million dollars worth of cut flowers from Yunnan, twice the amount of a year earlier.
