- Forex curbs eased in northeast provinces

THE government eased some foreign-exchange restrictions for the city of Dalian and the country's three northeastern provinces, the Shanghai Securities News reported Thursday, citing the Heilongjiang branch of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange.
The new rules remove the limit on yuan that will be exchanged into foreign currency in the area for offshore investment, the paper said. The report added companies operating in export zones in the region no longer have to apply for approval each time they need to convert foreign currency into yuan.
