- China Life gets nod for pension fund unit

CHINA Life Insurance Co., the country's largest insurer by premiums, has received approval to set up a pension fund unit, which will start operations soon, the Securities Times reported yesterday, citing an insurance regulator.
China Insurance Regulatory Commission Vice Chairman Wei Yingning said some other insurers are applying for approval to set up pension fund units, but didn't elaborate, according to the paper.
