- TCL Corp. reaffirms 2006 loss

TCL Corp., one of the country's largest homegrown television and cellphone producers, reiterated Friday that it would post a loss for 2006 and denied a local media report after its shares jumped 14 percent in the last two trading sessions.
The announcement came a day after a local newspaper report said the Shenzhen-listed company had the core intellectual property rights to a high-speed third-generation (3G) mobile wireless technology, which would make it a key beneficiary when the government rolls out its 3G network. The company denied the report.
