- TCL TV sales down 19 percent

TCL Corp. said yesterday that its television sales in December fell 19 percent from a year earlier to 1.97 million units, following a 4 percent slip in November.
TCL is the world's biggest television maker through a tie-up just over a year ago with RCA brand-owner Thomson S.A. The company is trying to lower costs and boost sales in Thomson's North American and European markets. The company's mobile phone sales fell 28 percent to 1.01 million units, while sales of personal computers came to 66,505 units in December against 66,789 a year earlier.
