- Changhong to make plasma panels

DOMESTIC television maker Sichuan Changhong Electric Co. will invest 6 billion yuan (US$779.22 million) to build China's first production line for plasma display panels.
The plant will be located in southwestern Sichuan Province. The first phase of the facility will begin production in July 2008, with an annual output of 2.16 million panels.
