- Iron ore imports down 6.2 percent

THE country's iron ore imports fell 6.2 percent year on year in June to 26.90 million tons, the General Administration of Customs said yesterday.
In the first half of this year, iron ore imports reached 187.91 million tons, up 16 percent year on year. China is one of the world's biggest importers of iron ore, securing most of its supplies from Australia, Brazil and India.
