SEVENTEEN Shenzhen companies were placed in a list of top 50 Guangdong enterprises in 2006 ranked recently by the Economic and Trade Commission of Guangdong Province and Guangdong Provincial Statistics Bureau.
Hongfujin Precision Industry (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd. and Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, Ltd. ranked second and third respectively, as they did in the list in 2005. New entrants to the list are Overseas Chinese Town Group, Great Wall International System Technology (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd. (ISTC) and Shenzhen Telling Communications Corp.
The province's top 50 companies generated a total of 1.826 trillion yuan (US$239.95 billion) in revenue last year, 316.44 billion yuan more than the figure in 2005. Their profits totaled 121.3 billion yuan, up 24.8 percent year on year.
