THE yuan-denominated A shares of China Life Insurance Co., the country's biggest life insurer by premiums, will start trading on the Shanghai Stock Exchange on Jan. 9, the China Securities Journal reported yesterday.
China Life Insurance plans to publish its official prospectus Tuesday and institutional and retail subscription for its A shares will be completed by the end of this year, the report said, without citing any sources. The securities regulator said Friday it approved China Life Insurance's A share initial public offering. China Life Insurance, which lists American Depositary Receipts in the United States and shares in Hong Kong, plans to sell up to 1.5 billion A shares, it said earlier in its draft prospectus posted on the China Securities Regulatory Commission's Web site.
