- Beijing airport invests in regional unit

THE State-owned parent of Beijing Capital International Airport Co. plans to invest 2.6 billion yuan (US$340 million) in a subsidiary that runs an airport in Nanchang, Nanchang's mayor said Tuesday.
Construction will begin this year to expand the airport's capacity to 12 million passengers by 2010 from 2 million, Hu Xian said. The airport was China's 35th-busiest last year, handling 2.76 million passengers, up 20 percent on 2005.
