- OCT hotel group kicks off service year

Employees of the five hotels and the Huaxia Art Center under the Overseas Chinese Town (OCT) Hotel Management Group filled the 2,000-square-meter banquet hall at the InterContinental Hotel on Wednesday afternoon to mark the launch of the 'Year of Service Excellence 2007.'
With the slogan 'Give me five,' which stands for five principles to 'work better together, do the right things, show you care, celebrate difference, and aim higher,' the hotel employees took a vow to do their best to serve the guests.
Each of the five hotels, namely InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Seaview, Interlaken, and City Inn, will select their 'Give me five' star employees every month. They will also nominated 10 annual winners at the end of the year, who will receive a two-week holiday in Europe.
There will be a service skills competition in August and a speech contest in October.
Dressed in a bright red T-shirt, OCT group CEO Ren Kelei unveiled the emblem of the event, an open palm. He also applauded the employees to boost their morale.
'I feel excited and encouraged by the event. It helps us feel more close to each other and better cooperate in our jobs,' said Cindy Peng, a Crowne Plaza employee at the ceremony.
