- Discounted loans for exporters scrapped

THE central bank said Thursday that it and several other departments were rescinding a rule that had given qualified exporting firms discounted lending rates.
In a statement on its Web site, the People's Bank of China said the rule would be canceled as of Thursday. It provided no other details. The central bank issued the notice along with the foreign exchange regulator, the commerce ministry and the tax administration.
