- Chalco alumina output rises 11.2 percent

ALUMINUM Corp. of China Ltd. said yesterday it produced 4.3 million tons of alumina in the first five months of this year, up 11.2 percent from the year-earlier period.
The Hong Kong and Shanghai-listed company, better known as Chalco, produced 1.1 million tons of aluminum between January and May, up 75 percent from the year-earlier period, according to a company presentation to analysts. During the five-month period, the company sold 1.08 million tons of aluminum and 2.35 million tons of alumina. Chalco didn't provide any year-on-year sales figures in the presentation.
