- Guangzhou Honda recalls defective vehicles in China

Guangzhou Honda Automobile Co. Ltd, one of China's biggest automakers, issued a recall of 528,604 vehicles in China on Monday, as part of a global action.
Guangzhou Honda previously submitted a recall report to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (GAQSIQ), China's market watchdog.
According to the GAQSIQ, the recall covers 419,613 vehicles of various models of Accord sedans, manufactured from Jan. 7, 2003, to Dec. 21, 2006, and 68,993 2005-2007 models of Odyssey sedans, made from Feb. 22, 2005, and Feb. 14, 2007.
The recall also covers 39,800 Accord, Odyssey and Fit sedans made from Aug. 1 and Sept. 30, 2005.
The vehicles to be recalled were found to have faulty power steering systems.
Guangzhou Honda will offer free replacements for customers.
The company was founded in July 1998 in the south China city of Guangzhou as a joint venture between Guangzhou Automobile Group and Japan's Honda Motor Co.Ltd.
The company now has two plants with about 5,100 employees and an annual production capacity of 360,000 cars, including the Accord, Odyssey, Fit and City.
