- Chery eyes Indian small car market

DOMESTIC carmaker Chery Automobile Co. plans to enter the Indian market to compete with entrenched players on the price front, the Times of India reported Thursday, quoting Zhang Lin, general manager for Chery Auto's international sales.
'We realize that the Indian small car market is very competitive. But it is also a growing market,'Zhang said. 'It would not be possible to compete in India on prices if we export from here. The obvious direction to take is to produce there,'he added.
