CHERY Automobile Co., China's fourth-largest carmaker, plans to generate 40 percent of its total sales from overseas by 2010, compared with 25 percent expected for this year, a company executive said yesterday.
Chery is expected to move more than 400,000 vehicles this year, with exports likely to hit 100,000, Zhou Biren, a vice president for Chery, said. By 2010, the company expects to achieve total sales of 1 million vehicles, 40 percent of which would be exported, he said. Zhou also said Chery currently had no plans to bring in strategic investors.
