THE securities regulator has signed the multilateral memorandum of understanding of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), the agency said on its Web site.
The China Securities Regulatory Commission said that international cooperation under the agreement would help it more efficiently regulate China's markets and give China a larger say in oversight of international securities trading. The ISOCO is a body of nearly 200 regulatory agencies. With China's acceptance of the agreement, 41 formal members have now signed the memorandum. It requires 113 formal members to sign on by 2010.
