- Firms urged to ensure oil supply

THE country's economic planning agency has called on major domestic oil companies to ensure the stable supply of refined oil.
A statement from the National Development and Reform Commission on Saturday asked China National Petroleum Corp. and China Petroleum & Chemical Corp., or Sinopec, to increase crude oil refining, strictly control refined oil exports and take other measures to ensure the market supply of refined oil. The statement also warned retailers against hoarding oil or withholding it from the market and instructed local officials to strengthen their supervision of refined oil pricing.
