- Beijing to raise vehicle, ship tax starting Oct.1

BEIJING Local Taxation Bureau will start collecting the newly increased vehicle and ship taxes Oct. 1.
The taxation was based on the Provisional Regulations of the People's Republic of China for Tax on Vehicles and Ships implemented Jan. 1, 2007, but Beijing postponed the collection of the new tax to wait for relevant procedures to be finished.
