- Special disclosure rules for financial firms

THE government planned to issue special rules next year on information disclosure by listed insurance, banking and securities companies, the Financial News reported yesterday, quoting an official at the country's securities regulator.
The rules were among the priorities next year for the China Securities Regulatory Commission in its supervision of information disclosure by listed firms, the report quoted Li Xiaoxue, a Party committee member of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, as saying. The report didn't give further details on the rules. Li said the regulator would also strengthen supervision of intermediary institutions such as accounting firms to ensure they work independently.
