- Fiji to promote trade in China

Fiji is to send a mission to China next month to promote trade and investment in line with the government's Look North Policy, reported local media Tuesday.
Fijilive, a local news service, said a senior economist at the Ministry of Trade and Commerce, Sovaia Marawa, said the Asian economy is growing at an impressive rate with China and India both very prominent in world markets.
She said it is vital to explore China as a lucrative market for investors as well as plant and machinery to enable Fiji businesses to become more competitive.
Marawa said the mission to China would include site visits to key industries and one-on-one meetings with potential joint venture partners and potential importers and distributors.
The Fiji Trade and Investment Bureau, which is organizing the mission to China, will be responsible for all arrangements in China including arranging meetings, promotions and customs clearances for trade goods.
