- Macao's exports drop, imports rise

MACAO, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Macao's exports saw a year-on-year drop of 10.8 percent while imports saw a year-on-year rise of 9.5 percent in June, according to official statistics issued on Monday.
The figures released by the government-run Statistics and Census Services (SCS) showed that textile and garment exports, which accounted for 63.4 percent of Macao's total export value in the month, witnessed a year-on-year drop of 21.9 percent.
The United States and the European Union remained as Macao's major export markets in the period, jointly making up 57.0 percent of the total export value, the figures showed.
Meanwhile, the region's major suppliers of imported goods remained mainly in Asia, the statistics displayed.
