- Electric-bike production bases to be established in Wuxi

Wuxi, home of the largest e-bike production base in China, recently began setting up the Xinri e-bike hi-tech industrial park. After it is officially commissioned in 2009, the annual output is expected to reach more than 5 million e-bikes. The industrial park also includes a national e-bike engineering technological research center and e-bike inspection center.
E-bikes in China were imported in the 1990s. But after ten years of development, many large-scale e-bike manufacturers were built, and products were sold to Europe, the United States and Southeast Asia. Wuxi is the one of the largest e-bike production bases in China with an annual production of 3.5 million e-bikes.
