- Sinopec chairman resigns

CHEN TONGHAI, the head of top domestic oil refiner Sinopec Group and chairman of its listed arm Sinopec Corp., has resigned for personal reasons, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) said Friday.
SASAC, in charge of big State-owned firms, named Su Shulin as the new general manager and party secretary, SASAC said on its Web site. Su was a former deputy general manager of China National Petroleum Corp., China's largest oil and gas producer, and recently served as a Party organizing chief in Liaoning Province. Sinopec Corp. said on its Web site in a separate statement that Chen resigned as chairman and director of the company and vice chairman Zhou Yuan will serve as interim chairman until the company elects a replacement.
