THE government has granted final approval for PetroChina and its partners to go ahead with a 7.38 billion yuan (US$954.5 million) liquefied natural gas terminal in eastern Jiangsu Province, one of the partners said yesterday.
Pacific Oil & Gas said in a statement that they, PetroChina and Guoxin - the province's State investment company -- had won approval from the country's top economic planning agency for the project after a feasibility study. PetroChina, Asia's largest oil and gas producer, will own 55 percent of the 3.5 million ton-per-year receiving terminal, which is expected to begin commercial operation in the first quarter of 2011.
