- China's Huawei confirms death of employee in African aircraft crash

Huawei Technologies based in south China's Shenzhen city has confirmed death of an employee aboard a Kenya Airways aircraft that crashed in southern Cameroon last week.
Liu Sheng, 29, born in east China's Jiangsu Province, was confirmed dead by company officials sent to Cameroon after the crash. Searchers found Liu's cell phone and wallet, confirming his death on Wednesday.
Liu, a marketing manager at Huawei's office in South Africa and Cameroon, was on business in Kenya, said a person in charge of the company's public relations department, who declined to be named.
Liu's family will receive insurance compensation of 1 million yuan (130,000 U.S. dollars), according to company policy.
Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., which provides telecommunications networks, has eight regional bases and more than 100 branch offices around the world.
Five Chinese were among the 115 passengers aboard the Kenya Airways flight. Liu was the last confirmed death.
The other four Chinese victims were: Bian Jingzhong and Shi Weisha, a couple doing business in Abidjan; Jiang Xuedong, an employee in the Cote d'Ivoire branch of a Chinese private trade company; and Wu Changgen, a businessman from Jiangsu Province.
