- Dow, Shenhua to study joint coal project

DOW Chemical Co. on Monday said it agreed with China's Shenhua Group to study the feasibility of building a coal-to-chemicals complex in China.
The project would convert coal to methanol to make ethylene and propylene, two chemicals used in a variety of plastic products, and other chemicals. Financial terms were not disclosed. The feasibility study will assess environmental impact, water supply, engineering design and other logistics.
