SHENZHEN will launch the nation's first Internet copyright protection legislation, according to a Shenzhen Economic Daily report.
The city government plans to launch two laws based on intellectual property rights and computer software copyright to protect against the increasing challenges posed by piracy and infringement rights. 'Strengthening IPR protection in the background of Internet communication is a new and difficult task for China as a whole. But Shenzhen has advantages in exploring this as a leader in IPR protection with an advanced Internet industry,'said Xu Youjun, director general of the Shenzhen Copyright Society. Shenzhen expects to provide copyright licensing services for both individuals and enterprises and to integrate the management of digitally copyrighted works this year with continuing government support.
