South Korea's trade surplus with China sank 16.8 percent on-year to 5.2 billion in the January-April period, said a report of the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) on Monday.
During the first four months of this year, South Korean firms exported about 24.7 billion U.S. dollars worth of goods, while importing 19.5 billion U.S. dollars worth of goods from China, it said.
At the current pace, South Korea's trade surplus with China may fall for the second straight year, the KITA said. South Korea's trade surplus with China dropped to 20.97 billion U.S. dollars in 2006 from 23.27 billion U.S. dollars in 2005.
