- Govt. to adjust natural gas prices soon

THE government said Thursday its natural gas prices are 'seriously low?and it plans to adjust costs for industrial users and retail prices for car drivers soon, following a 10 percent rise in fuel costs Thursday.
'China's natural gas prices are seriously low, and supply contradictions are very obvious,'the National Development and Reform Commission said in a statement posted on its Web site. 'In order to restrain the overly fast increase in industrial projects using natural gas and the blind development of cars changing from using oil to using gas...the measures for adjusting natural gas pricing will be implemented in the near future.'
Schneider Electric, Delixi finalize venture
FRENCH power equipment manufacturer Schneider Electric said Thursday it has finalized the creation of its joint venture with Chinese partner Delixi Group after approval from Chinese authorities.
Schneider Electric announced plans in December to form a 50-50 joint venture with Delixi Group to manufacture and sell low-voltage power equipment.
Bombardier gets train car order
BOMBARDIER Inc. said Thursday that its Chinese joint venture received an order for 640 high-speed train cars from China's Ministry of Railways.
The order for Bombardier Sifang Power (Qingdao) Transportation Ltd. is valued at US$1.5 billion, with Bombardier's share totaling US$596 million. The order calls for delivering 40 electric 16-car trainsets, which are capable of reaching speeds of 250 kilometers an hour.
