- Shenhua coal output up 18.4 percent

CHINA Shenhua Energy Co., the country's largest coal producer, said Friday commercial coal output in October rose 18.4 percent year on year to 13.5 million tons.
The Hong Kong and Shanghai-listed company said it sold 17.4 million tons of coal last month, up 21.7 percent, with 1.7 million tons exported, down 15 percent. Shenhua Energy, which also operates railways, ports and power plants, said power output last month rose 37.1 percent year on year to 6.32 billion kilowatt-hours. The company also sold 5.85 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity last month, up 35.7 percent year on year.
