- Yan'an shines with oil

The Chuankou oil production fi eld in Yan'an, a city in Northwest China's Shaanxi Province and the heart of the Chinese Communist Party revolution. The oil industry has become the main source of income of the city. The city has developed into a modern city from a small town thanks to China's reform and opening-up policy. In 2006, the city's GDP grew to 45.3 billion yuan (US$6.04 billion), and its fi scal revenue increased to 14.8 billion yuan, both taking fi rst place in the province.
