- CNOOC opens first petrol station

CHINA National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC), the country's third-largest oil producer, has taken a step into the retail sector by opening a service station in Guangdong Province, a company report said.
The Shihuaxi station is the first of 30 planned for the area around Huizhou City, which will ultimately be supplied with fuel from the firm's nearby Huizhou refinery, the company said in a report on its Web site yesterday. CNOOC aims to build a distribution network including 300 petrol stations in Guangdong and a storage center in Dongguan City to be linked with the new plant via a pipeline.
