CHINA plans to detail an environmental tax proposal in one to two months aimed at collecting tax based on the volume of pollution emissions, a senior government regulator said yesterday.
Regulators are currently studying the plan, including its scope, Pan Yue, vice director of the State Environmental Protection Administration, said on the sidelines of a key political meeting in Beijing. Pan, who declined to elaborate on the plan, said after it is approved, it may need to be launched for a trial period initially.
