- 10 forest parksin five years

SHENZHEN will have 10 well-equipped forest parks in five years' time, offering more places for residents to relax during their leisure time.
With each park costing 70 million to 100 million yuan, the total investment in the 10 parks will reach nearly 10 billion yuan, officials with the city's greenery management office were quoted as saying in yesterday's Daily Sunshine. Once the forest parks are open, forests will cover 48 percent of the city's total land area and the green space in the city will reach 16 square meters per person.
Construction of one of the parks, the Yangtaishan Forest Park, will start by the end of this year. Feasibility plans for three other forest parks, namely Guanlan Forest Park, Guangming Forest Park and Songzikeng Forest Park, have passed expert appraisal.
